and since my father and the rest of my family that lives in houston, opps i mean, my mother have season tickets, we’re really enjoying this season.  cheering hard!  i guess it’s a good thing to that i live so far away since we lost when i went, my father probably wouldn’t have invited me to go again.

we headed up to watch a half at BW3 (since L doesn’t really understand that he could stay up til the end of the game).

i’m not sure what this ear, opps year will bring.  i know that poppy is hoping that it’ll bring some employment for a certain spouse.  or just lots oh cash and a renter for our house.  (then i could stay home guilt free)

i know that we’ll be experiencing lots of changes in our marriage as well.  i’m not gonna lie these first 8ish months have been a bit rough.  poppy missing playing golf, alot and i miss sleeping, alot.  some things that we hope to focus back on this year.  we bought some tennis racquets while in south africa so i’m hoping to learn and that rob can be a patient teacher.  this should be fun.

we got a larger tent while we here so that we can ALL fit in a tent.  we just need for there to be gas to buy in LLW so we can get out of town.  (and if you have any hints for tenting with your child, i’m open to suggestions…)  we want L to respect the environment as much as we do and to love hiking, trees and flowers  and all that other stuff.  (plus showering…)  poppy would love to get him a pet otter to play with.  :)

we are thinking about our time in malawi.  and trying to be purposeful with it.  we aren’t going to get back this age with L.  it’s hard.  i remember my mother at age thirty someanother…. (hi mom, feel better!)  i want L to remember fondly on our time in malawi (i know he won’t remember it all but…)

but we need to treasure our time.  (maybe treasure should be my word of the year)

make our interactions purposeful!  (maybe that should be my word)

fyi: i don’t think that L’s going to make it to kick off! if we’re lucky, he’s one grumpy kid! please let this tooth come now!

what an exciting 1.5 mo we’ve been having.

i think that he’s enjoying his time in the states.

sleeping:  he’s been doing better and worse here.  he is CERTAINLY able to go to bed ALOT later.  he has been staying up til between 7-8.  and then sleeping in til around 7-8ish.  GREAT job, luka!  your mother and father like that.  i’m hoping that this is something that will stay the same once we return.

eating:  he is now eating a ton.  he went on a bit of a food strike at times while we were here.  but not now.  plus drinking tons of formula.  we added .5 meal during the day while we’ve been here.  this does seem to help but he still is drinking about 6-9 bottles daily.  (somewhere between 6-8 oz at a time)  sometimes he needs one to get through the nite and sometimes not.

size:  last nite, he wore 18 mo pjs but mostly he’s in 12 mo (and even some 6 mo) clothing.  his sweaters that he has been wearing while here are 3 mo.  i’m not sure about weight.  (i’ll try and put him on a scale while we’re travelling to see.  but by my eye, he looks like he’s getting chunky again.  maybe another growth spurt.  i guess that i could measure him but he is tall.

drooling/vomiting/throw-up:  he’s doing all that.  i’m hoping that that tooth comes soon.

mood:  he still mostly smiles and flirts.  loves to look at everything.  wants to just stare at ‘it’ and then touch ‘it’.  he’s finding when we go to new places and i will not let him explore, he gets annoyed by that.

moving:  he’s a GREAT swimmer on the floor.  he’s army crawling and crawling crawling.  but sometimes, he’ll just lie on the floor with his arms moving and his feet kicking like he is swimming.  maybe me putting him in the pool first wasn’t quite the right idea.

eyes/hair:  i think that his eyes might stay blueish.  i’m not sure that they’ll changing.  and since most people have seen him now-really just looks like poppy, huh!!??!!  but i think that the only thing that he got from me might be the hair.  it’s got a curl.

that sucks!

but since i already missed posting it ON the correct day, you’ll just have to wait til tomorrow.  i’m to tired to edit some photos that we took this evening.

thanks for sharing some of our lives this year.  we have been truly blessed!

we just hope that 2012 proves to be just as fun!
